From the team of Myron and Mat Smith who brought us the vampire film Young Blood Evil Intentions comes the awesome looking backyard chiller Invasion of The Killer Cicadas! Yes those pesky and loud summer bugs that we love to hate are here to destroy you in this ode to the rambunctious insect monster movies from the 70’s!
From the creators of “Young Blood: Evil Intentions” comes an epic Sci-Fi adventure you don’t want to miss! When a small humble town is plagued by killer cicadas, for them it seems hopeless. After two dimwitted service men spray the cicadas with chemicals mistaken for pesticide, these little buggers mutate to an uncontrollable size! Soon the planet is in peril as these colossal cicadas effortlessly demolish buildings and crush poor citizens! It seems there is only one man who can stop them before it’s too late. Will he be able to save the day? Or will the world fall victim to the “Invasion of the Killer Cicadas”?
The movie looks like loads of fun and we can’t wait to spread this one to the masses. They have successfully funded their Kickstarter campaign and and only need to finish a few more scenes.
“We can’t thank our supporters enough! This helps out tremendously and goes a super long way. We set our original goal under budget for the film and the campaign has performed better than we could predict. Since there is still some time left in our campaign, we are setting our new goal at $2,000. If we are able to raise that much, we will not only have more funding to further improve the film itself, but also be able to improve the DVD packaging and other products. It will also help us enter the movie into film festivals. To show our appreciation, we will also send all of our Kickstarter backers some additional Killer Cicada memorabilia.” -Myron Smith
Looks like the fellas are toning down the seriousness and focusing on the comedy for this romp.
”After creating a horror film, we decided to do something a little more playful with Invasion of the Killer Cicadas. Creating Young Blood: Evil Intentions was an enjoyable experience, but making a dark psychological thriller can be a little restraining at times. With a science fiction comedy, this time there will be no limits.”
”Having paid most of the movie ourselves out-of-pocket, we are hoping to raise some funds to enhance production value on several scenes. This amount would barely buy a day’s lunch for most production companies, but it will make a huge difference for us. Once the film is complete, any additional funds raised would be used for production of DVDs, film festival submission fees, and countless other expenses that come with promoting a film.”
