Submissions are now open for the ‘South African HorrorFest’

Last month we gave you guys the short film spotlight from students as the South African Film School Reach. Being that it was such an awesome short it propelled us into looking at more things happening in the region. Well it looks like the annual horror convention HorrorFest is ready to celebrate their 10th year and are now accepting film submissions. There have been many great independent releases shown at the festival from all outlets of the world. Film’s like Colin, Frankenstein’s Army, and more have played there and this year should be extra special. Check out the rules for submission below and head over to their site and submit your film today you have until August 1st! 2014 South African HORRORFEST Submissions


The HorrorFest will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2014!



> Best Feature Film – FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY

> Best Short Film – HOTEL

> South African Short Film Acknowledgement – RETRO BOUCHON

> Best Documentary – L’AUTRE MONDE (The Otherworld)

> Audience Choice – THE MAKABRA ENSEMBLE live soundtrack performance to THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME

> The Far-Out! Feature Film Award – PRESIDENT WOLFMAN


All submitted Feature Films and Short Films will be viewed by the selection panel, and if chosen will be screened at the S.A. HORRORFEST.

Where deemed fit, Official Selection status will be awarded & various winning categories selected.
