Teeny bopper supernatural flick ‘Innocence’ in theaters this September

Invading theaters next month is the supernatural film based off of the novel by Jane Mendelsohn INNOCENCE. Yes that is the sound of the young girls on tumblr screaming as yet another young adult novel is getting its film run. Directed by Hilary Brougher INNOCENCE stars Kelly Reilly (Heaven Is for Real, Sherlock Holmes) as a young woman attending a preparatory school that may not be all that it seems. Daring and bold INNOCENCE is a the next installment of entertaining supernatural films for the youth.  It hits theaters on September 5th. Read on for all the details on the release.

 

Haunted by the death and dreams of her beloved mother in a Montauk surfing accident, 16 year old Beckett and her father, novelist Miles Warner, move to Manhattan and attempt to piece together their shattered life. Now enrolled at the exclusive Hamilton preparatory school, her psychosis and hallucinations intensify with the dubious suicides of current and past students as does her first love for Tobey Crawford. The discovery that her new school may be run by a coven of beautiful and seductive women who perpetuate their youth by drinking the blood of virgins becomes the ultimate challenge of Beckett and Tobey’s young lives.

INNOCENCE is a chilling allegory of the precarious state of an American teenager, explores themes of loss, the human condition and a society torn between purity and narcissism.

 

Based off the 2001 novel by Jane Mendelsohn, INNOCENCE tells the story of Beckett Warner, a teenager dealing with the recent death of her mother. Yet, once she moves to Manhattan to put her life back together and begin a new school, Beckett realizes that her troubles may be far worse—her school is run by a coven of beautiful and seductive women who perpetuate their youth by drinking the blood of virgins.

 

Starring Kelly Reilly (Heaven Is for Real, Sherlock Holmes), Sophie Curtis, and Graham Phillips, INNOCENCE will be in theaters SEPTEMBER 5th.
