The entire horror community was buzzed last week about the new feature from STX Entertainment. Starring THE WALKING DEAD’S Lauren Cohan the terrifying looking doll thriller THE BOY released their debut trailer. The film follows a young woman who is nannying for a strange old couple whose son is truly different from most children. In GREMLINS styled fashion there are a set of rules she must follow and comes to find out this doll maybe more real than she could ever imagine. THE BOY looks to capitalize on what was missed by last years stinker ANNABELLE and will be in theaters on January 22nd 2016. Greta is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family’s 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta’s worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.
THE BOY is directed by William Brent Bell and stars Lauren Cohan, Rupert Evans, Jim Norton, Diana Hardcastle, Ben Robson and James Russell.
