Directed by William Brent Bell, The Boy will be one of the first scary movie releases next year. Set to be released by STX Entertainment on January 22, 2016, it was previously known as The Inhabitant. The Boy documents an American girl (Lauren Cohan) who signs up for a nanny job in a remote English village. She finds out upon her arrival that she will be looking after an actual life-size porcelain doll, which the parents treat like a real boy so they can cope with their son’s death.
The Cell is an American science fiction horror that stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, which is based on Stephen King’s 2006 novel and is directed by Tod Williams from Paranormal Activity fame. The movie will feature an English artist (played by Cusack) who gets to witness a mysterious signal broadcast that turns humans into mindless vicious animals. Stories based on mobile technologies are a common trend nowadays with many Japanese horrors movie revolving around cellphones. We expect this movie to give us the creep once it hits the big screen on February 26, 2016, just don’t take your cell in with you!
