Next month XLrator Media will bring a live action version of the dark comic book adaptation THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY to theaters. Loosely based off the classic Brothers Grimm tale the story follows a young man who has inherited a castle with a dark and sinister curse. This is not your grandmother’s fairy tale as it’s a dark and ghastly rendition of the folklore. Look for it in limited theaters on May 13th, followed by an iTunes and VOD release on May 17th. Peep ahead for the full details on the release and look for a review on THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY in the near future!
“The Curse of Sleeping Beauty” is an entirely new, dark vision of the classic Brothers Grimm adventure. Thomas Kaiser (Ethan Peck) inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations — only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as “protector” — the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay — Thomas must unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose (India Eisley), held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.
THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY is directed by Pearry Teo and stars Ethan Peck, Natalie Hall, India Eisley and Bruce Davison. It is being released courtesy of XLrator Media.
