When friends and family are aware that a sole member of their group runs a horror movie site things get hectic this time of year. Usually every Friday or Saturday a text is sent to said person asking “hey i’m on Netflix, got a film to recommend?” Depending on the free time of that individual no response will ever be sent or possibly just the standard “who dis?” text will ping back. So luckily for all those casual gorehounds the studios have been making an emphasis to notify the gen pop on potential flicks that may spark their horror fancy. One such film is the dark urban vampire flick TRANSFIGURATION. The feature follows a young man obsessed with the undead and a young woman who gets wrapped up in his macabre fantasy. Strand Releasing has announced today that the film is now available on Netflix.
An official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, writer/director Michael O’Shea’s debut feature THE TRANSFIGURATION follows troubled teen Milo who hides behind his fascination with vampire lore. When he meets the equally alienated Sophie, the two form a bond that begins to challenge Milo’s dark obsession, blurring his fantasy into reality. A chilling portrait of violence, THE TRANSFIGURATION is a stunning atmospheric thriller set against the grit of New York City.
